Holiday weeks are where the GoWild! Pass gets its strictest limits. On blackout dates, the $0.01 pass fare isn't available, so a flight that would cost about $15 can show a much higher price or none at all. If you're planning travel around Thanksgiving or Christmas 2026, the useful question is which days are still open.
Thanksgiving 2026
In our blackout calendar, the Thanksgiving blackout dates are November 24, 25, 28, 29 and 30. Thanksgiving Day itself, Thursday November 26, and Friday November 27 are not on the list.
- Blacked out: Nov 24 (Tue), Nov 25 (Wed), Nov 28 (Sat), Nov 29 (Sun), Nov 30 (Mon).
- Open: Nov 26 (Thu) and Nov 27 (Fri), subject to seats.
- The practical pattern: you can leave on the holiday itself, but the heavy travel days on either side are closed.
Christmas and New Year 2026
The holiday block is long. Every date from December 19 through December 31, 2026 is on the blackout list, and January 1 to 3, 2027 follows. If you want to fly on the pass around Christmas, the realistic windows are before December 19 or after January 3.
How to plan around it
- Check the date first. Our search shows a blackout warning before you spend time scanning.
- Think in return trips. If your outbound is open but your return lands in a blackout window, you can end up stranded or paying cash.
- Remember the booking window. Domestic GoWild! seats open the day before departure, so you can't lock in a holiday return weeks ahead.
- Keep a cash fallback in mind for the blacked-out days.
Blackout dates come from Frontier's published pass terms and can change. Confirm any date on flyfrontier.com before you plan around it.
