Is the GoWild! Fall & Winter Pass worth $249?

Frontier lists a Fall & Winter GoWild! Pass at $249, valid from August 4, 2026 to February 28, 2027. Whether that is a good deal has nothing to do with the sticker price on its own. It depends on how many flights you will actually take, and what you would have paid for them otherwise. Frontier also says that, for a limited time, this pass comes with dedicated seats on every flight and more early booking options.

What every flight costs on the pass

Each segment has a $0.01 fare plus government and airport taxes and fees. Frontier says domestic taxes and fees start at about $15.40 per person, per flight. International flights vary a lot and can be well over $100 each. Bags and seat choices are extra unless you have Elite status.

The break-even math

Take the pass price, $249, and divide it by what you save on each flight. The saving is the ticket you would have bought instead, minus the roughly $15.40 you pay on the pass. These are examples, so use your own usual fares:

  • You would otherwise pay $40 a flight: you save about $24.60 each, so you need 11 flights to cover the pass.
  • You would otherwise pay $50 a flight: you save about $34.60 each, so you need 8 flights.
  • You would otherwise pay $70 a flight: you save about $54.60 each, so you need 5 flights.

Add anything you would pay for bags or seats on either option, and the number moves a little. The point is that the pass pays off with frequent flying, not with one or two trips.

What stops people flying as much as they planned

  • Domestic seats can be booked the day before departure, and international seats 10 days ahead. You cannot lock in a trip weeks away.
  • Blackout dates apply, including around the holidays. See the blackout calendar before you plan around a long weekend.
  • Seats are subject to availability, and the last seats are not guaranteed. Popular routes can have nothing open.
  • Reservations are non-refundable in most cases, and a missed flight can cost you.

Who it fits

It suits people who live near a Frontier airport, can leave on a day's notice, and are happy to pick the destination after they see what is open. It fits poorly if you need to be somewhere specific on a fixed date, travel with lots of bags, or can only fly on holidays.

A quick test: look at tomorrow's seats from your home airport right now. If several places you would happily visit have open seats, the pass probably fits how you travel. If you struggle to find even one, think again.
